F for Freedom. F for Friendship
In August we celebrate Independence Day and Friendship Day. Is there a chord between the two? Yes. Mahatma Gandhi got India Independence by practicing peace, non-violence and more importantly being a trust-worthy friend to his fellow freedom fighters. Without his team’s trust he wouldn’t have been able to put a united fight against the Britishers.
Team work was required then and team work is required even today. In class, sports ground and even in parties. The 6 keys to a good team – Friendship, freedom, honesty, trust, understanding and communication.
August Issue of The Child City explains the concept of Friendship through Story – The Greatest Treasure, draws inspiration from Freedom Fighters who won the battle through peace & non-violence. It’s important that we teach children to make good friends.
My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me. – Henry Ford
